The Labo de la Fanzinothèque, based at Le Confort moderne in Poitiers, is offering a full-day workshop introducing participants to the technique of screen printing.

The workshop will be preceded by an immersion in the château and its permanent collection, organised according to the 4 elements classification, with the aim of composing graphic elements to create a collective poster.

Screen printing is a printing process that works on the principle of stencilling, by superimposing colours, and which makes it possible to print in large quantities. The "stencil" or "screen" is made from a fabric frame using a photosensitive process.

Printing is done by hand, using a squeegee to force the ink through the mesh of the screen. The technique has the advantage of being able to be applied to a variety of media, with intense and varied colours.

The workshop is led by Anne Hubert, screen printer, and Alice Ferré, visual artist.

The workshop lasts all day, with a picnic break (please bring your own).
